Vinita Godinho - Understanding of money in Indigenous Australia and implications for Financial Inclusion

Indigenous Australians living in remote areas face unique financial challenges.

This research explores how Indigenous people understand money, and how they want to use and manage it. This will help in improving their financial inclusion and also in better socio-economic and health outcomes by building social capital, personal self-esteem and confidence amongst Indigenous people. The flow-on impact of improving Indigenous disadvantage has been proven to be up to 1% of our GDP or AUD 10bn per annum.
