Graduate School of Business and Law Philosophers Series - Milton Friedman

Professor Peter Sheldrake provides an introduction to the work of twentieth century philosophers and invites the audience to reflect upon the relevance of their thinking to corporate life and how they might apply the findings to their own business practice.

Recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, Friedman is best known for his theoretical and empirical research on consumption analysis, monetary history and theory, and for his demonstration of the complexity of stabilisation. Friedman has influenced government policies regarding monetary policy, taxation, privatisation and deregulation. Following the global financial crisis many are questioning the relevance of these economic strategies for the changing global context.
